Pros and Cons of Using Charcoal BBQ Grills 

Pros:

  • It reaches high temperatures of up to 375 degrees celsius
  • Charcoal grills are less expensive
  • Fuel, i.e. charcoal is less expensive and easily available 
  • It adds an authentic smokey flavor to the food 

Cons

  • It is more difficult and takes longer to light or start. Using a chimney starter can make this process easier
  • It takes more practice to learn how to control the heat in a charcoal BBQ grill
  • It is less safe compared to gas or electric grills, especially with kids and pets. You can have to be careful with inflammable materials around the grill
